“When we decided to build our new home, we knew we would need a builder with both a solid reputation and the flexibility to incorporate the features and ideas that we had dreamed about for years. From the outset, Ben Christensen of BENCO VENTURES met these needs and many more as we progressed from plans to groundbreaking and on to construction, finishing and finally possession.

Ben started by establishing a close working relationship with us, spending time learning our ideas and contributing his years of experience by offering suggestions and alternatives to achieve our aims. Sometimes, as first-timers, our questions or plans were inappropriate or even unreasonable but Ben would always approach them positively and with sound reasoning. We always felt they were “our” plans, even though Ben did all the work!

Next up was lot selection and scheduling the construction. Ben provided and excellent selection of available sites and patiently explained both attributes and considerations of each. He was always approachable and willing to take the time to listen to our concerns, even though he maintains an incredibly busy work routine. Once we made our lot decision, Ben provided us finalized plans and a proposed work schedule, giving us a reasonable timeline with major milestones and a definite completion date. After completing the contract, a comprehensive package including house plans, all our agreed features and various finishing choices was provided. At this point, Ben sat with us and explained in great detail how we would progress, what we were expected to do and what we could expect from him. He specifically invited us to visit the work site and monitor progress, and to ask questions at any time.

Finally, the site was excavated and the foundation poured. After that, work progressed very quickly with Ben’s crew rapidly framing, wiring, plumbing and roofing, all on schedule and exactly as we had planned. Lockup was actually ahead of schedule despite severe weather. Good to his word, Ben seemed to appreciated our involvement and quickly responded to any questions or discrepancy we pointed out. Even when we requested changes, Ben responded positively and with uncommon patience. As completion neared, we marveled at how everything came together to our exact specification. Ben carefully monitored finishing details and consulted with us often to ensure our complete satisfaction. He contributed several of his own design features to ensure a unique and distinctive appearance amongst the other homes on our street. We felt truly involved in the construction and sincerely appreciated the positive attitude of all the tradesmen as they went out of their way to ensure we were happy.

Thanks to Ben’s planning and effective management, possession was right on schedule and we moved in almost on the exact date we had planned four months earlier. From the very beginning, this was a positive and extremely satisfying experience for us. It may be only concrete , lumber and stone but we have already “bonded” with our home due in large part to having the opportunity to participate in it’s construction. Ben his crews and staff at BENCO VENTURES have proven we made the right choice of builder.”
